Our First Christmas Tree and other new traditions

Steve and I have been together for 9 years and have never had a Christmas Tree. We decided we would get one from now on for the kiddies (and us...)!

Luckily, there is a Boy Scout tree lot across Mass Ave. I think it was hard for Steve not being able to go out in the backyard and cut his own like he did growing up in VT...
Butchie came, of course
Kate was more interested in this tree than the real ones.
I love that Steve just threw the tree over his back and walked it across Mass Ave. I love my Vermonster.
Like it was the most natural thing in the world
We unpacked the Xmas box. Kate was very interested in Papa's Bumble stocking (a gift from mama from our dating days)
But she was the most enamored by Mama's Rudolph stocking (a gift from Papa)

Kate loves to open Christmas cards each night before she goes to bed. She won't let us near them

Every morning, Kate would run out and turn on the tree and take a ring off of our Christmas countdown chain. It has been very helpful in teaching Kate about days and weeks.
