20 Months and Christmas 09

Milestones this month:

Had her 2nd Christmas!
Went to Edaville Railroad with Grandma and Grandpa King
Went to the Enchanted Village with Aunt Missy and Cousin Johnny
Had a week vacation with Papa and a five-day visit to Vermont to celebrate Christmas with the Cherington families
Discovers the Christmas tune "Dominic the Donkey" (much to her parents' dismay) and can't get enough....I shouldn't have downloaded it....
Loves to sing

Kate and Butchie. Their love is as strong as ever

Post-Christmas cookie mayhem

Papa building Kate's Christmas gift. Took us over 5 hours!!

Made him put the apron on

Kate and Grandma at Edaville Railroad. It was only 15 degrees (F)! For you non-Massachusetts people, Edaville is a historic railroad about an hour south of Boston that features (supposedly) 7 million Christmas lights. You walk through Christmas displays and then take the train around a large cranberry bog that has Christmas scenes in lights. It is actually quite amazing. Oh, and there is a mini amusement park. Worth the trip.

Kate on the train with Grandpa

Thought this was cute.

Kate on the Merry-go-round at Edaville. Only New Englanders would think a nighttime, outdoor amusement park in December is a good idea. Kate didn't mind that much...

Kate, Grandma and Grandpa King

We went to my Aunt Jean and Uncle Brent's (below as Santa) Christmas eve party. Kate did NOT like Santa. At least I didn't put her through the whole mall thing!

Santa came

What a confusing morning!

Kate pocketing her wooden duck

A gift from Papa: Buckles the Cat. Kate loves him!

She could buckle for hours.

Kate loves her beautiful, hand-made "Button Book" from Aunt Barbara.

Making bird treats with Grandma Henny

As close as she came to going outside in -7 degree (F) Vermont!

Enjoying having her Papa home for the week

Making tasty treats

Mind-bending blocks

Kate and Johnny holding hands in line at the Enchanted Village

They will like it more next year...

Kate's first blizzard (walking on the bike path behind our place)

ONLY Kate could find a pine cone in a blizzard!

19 Months

Kate loves her new stroller. I found her giving a picture of mama and papa a ride around the condo

In Brownington, VT at Grammy's over Thanksgiving. How do you know your mama's a "flatlander"? Full snow gear for a mere dusting...

Grammy up in the barn

First snowballs

"Sweeping" with Grammy

Kate and Papa at Grammy's

Auntie Donna gave Kate a box of chocolates....

Look mama: Two! Kate loves to wear undies and try on her clothes. She especially likes anything "two" and often comes and tells me "two pants"

Turned my back for a moment and she got a hold of the PB jar. Yes, I have lost control.

Kate loves to color

Likes to put mama's socks on

Sunday mornings...

Kate and I have gone to the Boston Children's Museum with our friends Cathel and Rover a few times this month. Kate's favorite is the fake bodega, where she can 'shop'. They even have a baseball game in the Dominican Republic on the TV in there!

On the bike path behind our place. We spend a lot of time there!
