Kate 3.11

The big countdown to the big 4!

We took DAYS making the rings for her chain.
This is for Grammie:  recognize this dress?  We were sorting summer clothes for Alex and Kate became sentimental for her old clothes (she is her mama's daughter says Steve).

Regressing (doing baby babble in her old Red Sox onesie.  Incredible it (sort of) fits

Still very into her kids

Spelling on the fridge and metal door.  Her teacher assures me this mirror image spelling is totally normal.  Pretty strange!  (no, yes, no)

I never know what I will find when I come out from nursing Alex to sleep.  Kate reads aloud totally made-up stories.  This one if for Uncle Jake
Kate is growing her hair out!

Trying on Mama's new Anthropologie dress (yes, I love her that much)

Sisters: Actually, Mama, She's My Wife

Kate announced yet another wedding in our house:  her own.  To Alex.  "I love her so much, mama"
Getting their hair done for the wedding.  Instead of the traditional white, Kate and Alex opted for a low-cut mustard number and a monkey sleeper.  I kept my mouth shut, good practice for when their day really comes.
I played The Wedding March on my phone.
"My wife makes me fish everyday.  I will be fishing until the day I die (sigh)"
Honestly, I don't know where she gets this stuff!!

Hey, good looking, I like your dress

"You did such a good job sweeping.  Here is my big sister medal"

Summer in March

We had a stretch of insanely warm weather in March.  We were prepared having already bought our summer clothes for St. John.  It was a great preview!
Kate's preschool

Then she fell and skinned her knee.  Now I remember why dresses/shorts are tough for toddlers.  Capris!

Didn't faze her at all though.  Tough bird.

We went to Walden with my friend Kate and her 2 daughters
The water was FREEZING but all of the kids were in.  Alex literally ran right in and went right under.  I was shocked (and luckily right there).  No fear!  She was a bit shocked and I had to wrap her up and nurse her until she was warm again.  Then she went right back in.

Kate spent most of the time filling a hole with water with some kids

Alex joined these kids and followed them all around

Mama's Irish 5K was in the warm stretch as well.  Gramma and Bubba babysat so Mama and Papa could participate in the post-race craic.  Mama had a 5K PB: 24:40!

Alex 13 months

Alex is a character!  She loves sunglasses and hats.  Unless she really needs to wear them, of course.

 raiding the snack drawer
Has really bonded with Bubba
Oh, nice hat.  MAMA!  My hat!

Loves to sweep.  Prefers the big broom, but that is seriously dangerous

Raiding Papa's toiletries
Doesn't mind Kate dressing her up a bit

Enjoys to build with the cans in the kitchen.  Pretty impressive!

Going down the better and to the pub.
Lentil hound.  Messy bird

Runs up and points to the swing (and screams)  Loves to swing
