15 Months

Milestones this month:

New words everyday. MINE, shoe, up, beach, boat, yea and no among the favorites. Started saying 'Baby Kate', although it sounds a lot like 'Baby cheese'....
Starting to use a fork and spoon

Had her first beach vacation and first swim in the ocean
Started climbing (oh boy)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We went to White Horse Beach in Plymouth for a week and a half in July. Kate loved the beach and had a great time!

Kate and Grandma King

We discovered Kate could use a fork when Auntie Missy gave her a piece of cake. Who knew?

The paparazzi shot.

We walked to Gellar's (the best soft serve and clam stand) with Auntie Missy and cousin Johnny. Again, had no idea she was so proficient with a spoon. Maybe all it takes is sweets?

Ice cream headache!

but goes back for more...

Kate loved the beach chair. We'll have to get her a child-sized chair next year.

Kate and Steve

She had a great appetite and really enjoyed eating outside. She was very nosey and monitored all the goings-on in the neighborhood.

Our friends Jon and Jessica and their 17 month-old twin boys came to stay with us for a few days. They had fun on the beach together.

How deep is this puddle?

Mealtimes were interesting

Overall we had good weather, but there were a few grey days. Kate didn't mind and really enjoyed collecting rocks.

She was 'beached-out' by the end of 10 days, though, and was ready to go home!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have a climber on our hands! Notice Butch tucked into the stroller. She now 'packs' before we leave...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kate had the MMR and Varicella (Chicken Pox) vaccines at her 15-month check-up and the live vaccine caused Kate to come down with a mild case of the Chicken Pox. She is doing fine and clucks like a chicken whenever I mention it.

Because of this we have been spending more time indoors! What a summer.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Kate has started feeding Butch her milk. She is very caring.

The neighborhood sandbox. We spend a lot of time there now.

My laundry helper!

Kate had her 15 month checkup on Friday.
She is now weighing in at 23 lbs, 7oz. and measures 32 inches. That puts her in the 60th percentile for weight and the 90th for height. Where did my baby go?
