July Sisterly Love (The Wives)

We had a great summer.  Popsicles and kiddie pools, doing Papa's hair, Walden Pond, Summer Camp, VT and playdates.  How will be ever give it up?

Changing in the trunk at Walden.  The only way!

Summer Camp!

Kate went to Drumlin Farm Nature Camp in Lincoln for 2 weeks from 8:30-3:00.   It was great.  It was a real preview of what life will be like in the fall for us with Kate starting school full time.  After being pretty tired initially,  she (we) all got used to it.
She was a little nervous, but over that real quick
Butterflies
Waiting for her sis.  Well, her wife.  That is what Kate calls her (and she dutifully answers to)
Kate came running out yelling "MY WIFE!  MY WIFE" and they embraced and rolled down the hill.

Alex had a hard time letting go in the AM.  She wanted to stay!

Family night.  Kate's class (The Seekers) did a song.

Alex started getting attached to Butchie while Kate was away.  Gulp....
Only one or 2 rainy days
Kate and her best camp friend Rosey.  Rosey is also a city girl who commutes from the South End every AM

 Uh Oh,

The last day.  Alex ran down the hill searching for Kate.  Kate was singing the camp song when we arrived.  When they broke up and cheered, Kate burst into the front of the group and yelled manically "I'M COMING BACK NEXT YEAR! EVERY YEAR!"  I need to be sure to keep her away from cults.
Them she saw us and yelled (as usual) "MY WIFE! MY WIFE!"

 The Happy Couple, together again.

Alex 17 Months

Alex has had a good 17th month.  Her buckle fascination continues, and she is pretty good at it!  High chairs, buckles the cat, car seats, you name it.  Kids LOVE buckles and ours are no exception.  She also is an early coaster-user like her sister.

Alex isn't very chatty, but her words are coming and include: me (a very emphatic ME), up, cat, hat, mama, papa, kate, milk, cookie, duck, baby, truck, apple, fork, book, car, stuck, buckle, cheese, hot, and of course, MINE.  The reason I have such a detailed list is that we are going to the MD for 18 mos appt and they requested it.
Helping mama with the laundry.

We had some great mama-Alex time while Kate was in camp.  We took long runs with the BOB through Lincoln and Concord, ran in the meadows and spent lazy mornings at Walden Pond.  A real romance.  We were happy to get back to our 3 girl team though when we picked Kate up.  Especially when we would go to the Dairy Joy down the road.
Loves the media cabinet.  She turns it waaaaay up and dances.  Note the 4-sizes-too=big purple Vans.  Yup, I am in trouble.

Grammie's on the 4th of July

Honestly, what is up with Blogger?  No matter what order I upload pics, they are randomly ordered.  Life is too short, I am going to just run with it.

We went up to VT for a visit to Grammie's for the fourth of July.  We then left Kate there for 3 nights and then came back during the weekend to take her home.  Awesome all around!
Kate insisted on a set tub bath.
OK pics are sideways too??

Grammie's window is a fan fav

 No trouble relaxing in VT

It is empty for the record.

 City girl no more

The fill pile that Grammie had delivered was the biggest hit.

 Mud pies

This is how we left her
