South Carolina

We went to Beaufort, SC to visit Auntie Donna and Uncle Andy over Columbus Day weekend.  It was so nice to see them and their new house!
OK, Blogger is still messed up and just throws pics in a any order.  It is really cumbersome to rearrange, so I will leave it scattered (or I will never catch up!)
Hunting Island.  This is were they filmed the Vietnam scenes in Forrest Gump.  We could see why!  Driving in was really like going through the jungle.  Kate stuck Butchie out the window and said "Butchie thinks he is home in the jungle Whoooo Whooo!"
The water was warm and it was a perfect day
The wives
Parris Island (US Marina Corps) across the way.  Uncle Josh spent 13 very long "weeks of hell" there in 1997
Auntie Donna looking radiant.  The Vermont girl in the sun, finally.

Beaufort is a very old, architecturally significant town.  It was captured early in the Civil War, so a lot of the nice structures were preserved.

Then it was cold.  Funny weather!

The house has an adjacent guest house, so we will be regulars!
