The Big Sister

How is Kate doing? Overall, I think she has adjusted remarkably well. It has been tough being cooped up indoors (the winter rages on in Boston) and having February vacation from school. She is happy reading books, doing puzzles & sticker books, dancing and doing 'cartwheels'. She has been very helpful as my little gopher, and has not shown any jealousy or aggression towards Alex. She is also very protective, which is sweet. She greets visitors at the door and says "No one touches my baby sister until they wash their hands!!"

She has been whining more (she sounds like Chewbaca (spelling?)) and has been less cooperative on daily routine things (like going to bed, getting dressed, eating dinner, etc). She is very proud to be a big sister however, and I think she is really enjoying everything.
Do you want to read Frog & Toad? Curious George? Kate has memorized all of these stories and can 'read' these books word for word. Kind of scary. She literally knows all 150 pages of the complete adventures of Curious George and all 4 F&T books. She still prefers I read them to her, but she is on me like a June Bug if I screw up a single pronoun. I videoed her reading one of the George books, I just need to edit it down to publish. She has her father's memory!

Grammie sent Kate a special package on Valentine's Day: striped leggings, an animal print leotard, and a purple tutu. Kate ran around in it for days, refusing to wear anything else. This pic looks posed, but I assure you it isn't.
We spend a lot of time like this. Thank god Kate loves books so much! We spend hours nursing and reading on this couch
We still make our Sunday pancake breakfast. Didn't miss a single Sunday! I usually have to nurse through eating it, however. And, yes, I wear this bathrobe everyday all day. I do have clothes on underneath, but Alex is a big spitter...
