Vermont Vacation

We went to Vermont for a week in July for vacation.  We stayed in Brownington at Steve's mother's house and had a very relaxing week!

We went to Burlington to visit Auntie Donna and (soon-to-be) Uncle Andy.  We took in a Vermonters baseball game while we were there.  A walk-off win for Alex's first baseball game!
Kate was very tired and very anxious about the monster mascot careening around on an ATV.  He caught her by surprise outside of the park and she LOST it.  The whole game she was on high alert and could not understand for the life of her WHY the other kids there thought he was so funny.  Poor Kate.
Alex with Donna and Andy.  They are getting hitched in August!

We went to the Barton Fairgrounds again this year for the 4th of July celebrations.  It was HOT and sunny so I had Alex in the carrier and held an umbrella.  I stuck out a wee bit.... Here is Alex at her first horse pull!
The country air SHOULD have made her sleepy at night as well, but....that is for another post.
Basking in the sun in Grammie's kitchen

Crystal Lake!  I only got in up to my ankles.  Alex was very high-need the 2 days we were there.  So much for the sun shade I bought for the trip!  She spent about 5 minutes in it. But the scenery was wonderful and the weather perfect (on this day.  The next day, we had to RUN to our car to escape a violent thunderstorm.  The winds were so powerful they blew a part of Scott's barn roof off!!)

The girls fell asleep in the car on the way home, so we decided to drive up Burke Mountain.  They woke up when we got to the peak so we took a little walk.  The walk to the vista proved to be too difficult for me in flip flops with Alex strapped to me (couldn't climb the rocks), but we still took in some great views.
 Sleepy one
Walking behind Steve and Kate, I realized they were dressed alike.  Ha!

 Papa checking it out

Kate went strawberry picking with Grammie and Steve (too hot for me and Alex).  They decided to make some Grammie Jam with the bounty!

 My little chemist

This will last us a few months I hope!

Berry picking (I think?) and other Grammie activities in Grammie's yard.
 They were hard to catch!

Mama, I have something for you! A flower!"

 Alex yelling and enjoying life
