Just as Alex requested: A blue cat with a rainbow. Thanks, Lyndell's!
Alex's Birthday celebration at nursery school
Hoodsies. Apparently no one on Earth is allergic to them, so that's what you are allowed to bring in. Period. Her school is very conservative with food- no peanuts, no nuts at all, no hummus with tahini, no seeds, everything cut up, etc etc. Actually, they limit a lot of things. No Halloween (in a nursery school!), VALENTINE'S DAY (in a nursery school?!) or St. Patrick's. I guess that is the way it is moving, but c'mon, no Halloween or VDay in nursery seems extreme. But, that said, the school and teachers are awesome and Alex loves it there."Shay-Shay"
Making frosting for Alex's cupcakes
Alex LOVEs the Happy Birthday song and has been practicing the whole week
After cupcakes, Alex had a strong urge to sit on the potty, and then refused to get up. So, after ten minutes or so, Kate asked if we could do presents on the can. She was more anxious than Alex to open them, of course. Alex loved the idea, and ended up opening all of her gifts on the red potty.
Her own cupcake box and mini-baby (Kate has same set-up and Alex has been coveting it)
From Grammie. Lots of great books and a Red Sox blanket she adores.
Kate has been saving money in her piggy bank Alex "gave" her for her birthday last April since, well, last April to buy Alex a birthday gift. She stuck with it for 10 months! She and Steve brought the contents to Money Star and she got $66! They went to Henry Bear's and got Alex a Curious George stuffy and a cat purse. She knew exactly what she wanted.Alex was delighted. She also received some Maisy books, a car, art supplies, and
a promise of a bike or trike when the weather improves
