Austin

We spent 5 days in TX in January (Austin and San Antonio) to escape the (cough) winter in Boston and to see Kate's first BFF and Dutch "twin", Rover (and his parents Cathel and Mark and new baby sis, Indy).  They were visiting UT Austin from Munich.   It was a great time!

The back yard at Mark and Cathel's rental house (where we stayed)

We dined out nightlywith 2 preschoolers, 2 infants, 6 vegetarians, and a nursling.  No easy feat (esp in TX, right?)
Trying for a group shot at a cafe near the uni

Kate sidled up to these co-eds.  Rover was a tad jealous

The infamous tower
Kate and Rover ran around the university with Steve while Mama and Cathel and the babes went shopping. Great fun had by all!  They met up with Mark after work and we all went out for Mexican on Guadalupe

Multitasking mama

The grounds at UT Texas are beautiful.  Being around the hustle and bustle of the uni made mama nostalgic for her academic days.

Buffalo Exchange after dinner.  Cathel had great luck and I found a nice Michael Stars T
But no one topped Kate's shoe finds

Bedtime
this book is in Dutch and kate doesn't mind.  In fact, she speaks Dutch.  "Awoogah" means NO and "Tice" means Yes.  Not really, of course, but she is sticking with it.

Only in TX!

Rover did great sharing his train set
