Kate was psyched to learn she was now officially 3.5. Some stats: wearing sizes 4T/5T, shoe 10, weighs 38 lbs and is 3'2
Likes: playing with snow (indoors. she is still a wimp like her Mama when it comes to the cold.) Luckily, it snowed in October and Papa brought some snow in for herLoves: jigsaw puzzles. Is doing 100 pieces now!
A gift from Grandpa and Henny
Still loves reading. This is what I found one afternoon after I nursed Alex down. Pretty heavy stuff, Kate!
"I thought this was Frog and Toad"
Loves bones and all things to do with anatomy, etc. Srill wants to be a frog doctor when she grows up
Loves cooking with mama. Grammie sent these wonderful brushes. kate knows just what to do with them (e.g. spread flour, brush Alex, play music, clean..)
Loves making things unconventional colors. e.g. purple dinner rolls, pink pancakes, camo green sugar cookies....
spreading sugar
Wear your PJs to school day. Bones! They also glow in the dark
Loves Rody. So this was completely unscripted...Kate in her ballet clothes with her blue balloon from Fast Phil (Steve's barber). May have had something to do with the fact we were playing Syd Barrett at the time? This is the sort of thing people who listen to Syd Barrett do, right?
Loves her ballet puzzle
and taking all of Alex's socks and freaking me out. Found this after my shower one day.
She has become quite the mama. "I have several children. 4, I think. Pink Monkey, Butchie, Hello Kitty, and Alexandra Grace the Doll (pictured). They help me with chores (like putting socks on knobs...)."
Loves her Ergo. She also like to engage in a sort of "Mommy Wars" conversation with me. "My baby is amazing. She sleeps through through night and already sits up"
It is very sweet to see her be so gentle and caring with her babes.
"The Red Sox lost???? But I wore my shirt, Papa!!!"
Kate has also started napping again. If she doesn't nap, she is a bear to be around and is practically passes out at 7. She actually naps longer than Alex. Sigh. Then she is up til 8:30 or 9. She helps me clean up so it is actually a win-win. She sweeps, does dishes, unloads the dishwasher, helps with laundry, and cleans up toys.
"Don't worry, mama, you will never be lonely again. I will do chores with you every night, even when I am a grownup and can reach without a stool" and "All of us mamas have a lot of chores, don't we? My babies went right down, did yours?"
Nursing her baby to sleep before I nurse Alex.
Reading to her 4 kids (Butch, Pink Monkey, Alexandra Grace, and Hello Kitty).
"Although Butchie isn't a baby anymore. He is my baby big boy. He is 5. or 6. or 10. He doesn't need help with anything anymore. He is in the 1st grade"
Kate found this hat for B-man at the Little Fox Shop for 25cents.
