16 Months

Milestones this month:

Attended Ted Kennedy's funeral procession
Celebrated Mama's 30th and Papa's 34th Birthdays
Climbing the couch, her toy box, chairs, etc. No falls, though...
Lots of new words. Some favs: butterfly (butty) Bunny (munny; a cross between 'mine' and 'bunny' we think..), more cheese, and book.
Doing really well with a fork and spoon
Had a great trip to Vermont: collected eggs with Debi, visited Scott's cows, picked berries with Grammy Marsha, had a creamee with Auntie Donna, and met her second cousin, Waydon Tenny Cherington

Loves to wear the aprons Great Aunt Maggie made for her. I thought she looked like a chef with these pants on her head!

Kate snuck up to Grammy Marsha's window

Kate at the park in our neighborhood. They have great water fountain there that Kate enjoyed all summer.

Putting wood chips down the drain provided hours of entertainment this summer

Kate likes to wear her aprons...

Kate started using a coaster one day. I couldn't believe it! The apple doesn't fall too far...

Kate at the park...

She had a ball with these hula hoops

She looks like a dog trainer

Kate loves 'baby'

Papa turns 34

Baseball cupcakes...

I felt weird taking pictures of the Kennedy procession, but someday I think Kate will find them interesting. It was a beautiful day and Kate was so well behoved for the 2+hours we waited at the State House.

She really liked the helicopters overhead

Mama turns 30

Kate really enjoys using a fork.

Kate became the proud mama of her first doll this month. She calls it 'baby' and likes to put it in her stroller, highchair, and on the potty. Kate has been warming up to using the potty and we have had a few successful attempts. The way she gets onto the potty had to be documented. She is going to kill me some day!

Step One: Remove doll

Step Two: Climb into potty feet first

Step Three: Once in potty, twist self around

Step Four: Stop for photo-op

Step Five: Once fully turned, wriggle feet out one by one.

Step Six: Both feet on the ground

Step Seven: Do your business. Do not try this at home.

Kate and her baby, ready to go

Kate had a visit from Ben Glebus (accompanied by his parents, Ed and Amanda). After a dinner out, they had a bath and went to bed. A successful first date by all measures.

Showing Ben her hood.
