Kate LOVES her sunglasses. Last summer she would squirm and protest, but now she brings them to me! She even likes to wear them in the house. This is a great video of her at her "DJ" table.....

Kate weaned herself 2 weeks after her birthday. One day she just shook her head 'no' and happily accepted cow's milk. She is an independent little girl! It was a bit bittersweet but I had NO problem tossing the nursing bras....

Kate had her first Easter last weekend. My mother hooked the Easter Bunny up with an Elmo basket that Kate enjoyed in our bed. We hid plastic eggs filled with cereal around the house and Kate had a ball finding them.
We had dinner at my parents' house where Kate had another basket waiting for her. The highlight? My mother gave Kate (well, me) and alternate Butch to put in rotation in case the unthinkable ever happens to Butch I. haha. Also: Butch pajamas!

We had another birthday party for Kate on 4/11. My parents, my brother Josh and his wife Missy and new son Johnny, my brother Jake and his GF Jaime, and my grandmother (aka 'Nana' to Kate) were all there to celebrate. More cake, more presents! Kate handled it all with exuberance...

Kate had her one year check-up with her doc. She is in the 50th percentile for both weight and height: 21 lbs., 30 inches! A 14lb, 4 oz weight and 10 1/2 inch gain since birth!

Kate started swimming classes two weeks ago. She is warming up more and more to the water. I wish I could get a picture of her in the pool, but I am sure it is frowned upon by the gym...This thought came to me as I took a pic of her in the locker room...
The gym is in Harvard Square so we visited daddy at his office afterwards last week. Kate loves looking out his office window to the street. I think she could stay there fully amused for hours. Maybe I could leave her there and go shopping from time to time..
